Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) has come on board as a Gold Sponsor of the 2024 Geoscience, Exploration & Extraction (GEE) Conference and Exhibition with the presentation of K100,000 to event hosts, the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA).
OTML’s General Manager Social Performance & Sustainability, Jesse Pile, presented the funding to MRA Managing Director, Jerry Garry, in Port Moresby.
Mr Pile said OTML recognizes the importance of supporting such initiatives that foster growth and development in such critical multidisciplinary fields.
“We are proud to support the 2024 GEE Conference and Exhibition and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Geoscience, Geological Exploration, and Mineral Extraction field in the country,” said Mr Pile.
“The conference is a premier event, linking learners, practitioners, and decision-makers, and OTML is committed to its success.”
The 2024 GEE Conference and Exhibition brings together leading academic scientists, researchers and geoscientists to exchange, share experiences, and research results on all aspects of Geoscience, Geological Exploration and Mineral and Petroleum Extraction.
The conference aim is to foster a multidisciplinary and integrated approach through all geoscientific disciplines in supporting inclusive growth both in PNG and globally, whilst achieving sustainable development goals.
The 2024 GEE Conference and Exhibition will be held in Port Moresby from August 7th – 9th, focusing on the theme ‘Research & Innovation in Geosciences, Exploration & Extraction for Sustainability’.
The first GEE Conference and Exhibition was held in 2022.
