Ok Tedi Development Foundation
The Ok Tedi Development Foundation Limited (OTDF) is a non-profit subsidiary of Ok Tedi Mining Limited that aims to improve self-sustainability & the quality of life of Western Province communities.The Ok Tedi Development Foundation Limited (OTDF) is a subsidiary of Ok Tedi Mining Limited and a non-profit, legal entity established to manage the development benefits and delivery of projects to the 157 villages in the Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) area of the Western Province and with consideration for the peoples of the Telefomin District, Sandaun Province.
OTDF’s vision is “To improve self-sustainability and quality of life of Western Province communities”.
Areas of Focus
OTDF aims to build capacity and self-sufficiency within the local communities to develop long-term sustainable outcomes.
OTDF focusses on delivering outcomes in five key sectors through the efficient and effective implementation of high-quality, sustainable projects:
- Community & Social Development;
- Health;
- Education;
- Infrastructure, and
- Local & Regional Economic Development
Working in Partnership
To deliver positive these outcomes, OTDF works in partnership with the communities and their formal structures, including Village Planning Committees, CMCA Trust Boards, Women’s Associations, CMCA Advisory Committee and Board Associate Directors.
Complementing the CMCA partnerships are the technical, managerial and funding partnerships to support project implementation and augment funding.
Funding
Project and program funding for the OTDF is primarily from OTML, CMCA Trusts and Western Province Peoples Dividend Trust Fund (WPPDTF), various trusts and partnerships with donors and aid agencies.
OTML supports the OTDF by providing resources and staff to participate on various Boards and Trusts, providing strategic planning support, technical services, networking assistance, financial and in-kind resources.

The four key principles underpinning all OTDF’s strategic engagement with stakeholders and guiding day-to-day operations are:
- Effective management and implementation of regional development programs;
- Strengthening partnership and involvement with stakeholders;
- Prudent financial and operational systems management and accountability; and
