OTDF’s vision is “To improve self-sustainability and quality of life of Western Province communities”.

Areas of Focus

OTDF aims to build capacity and self-sufficiency within the local communities to develop long-term sustainable outcomes.

OTDF focusses on delivering outcomes in five key sectors through the efficient and effective implementation of high-quality, sustainable projects:

  • Community & Social Development;
  • Health;
  • Education;
  • Infrastructure, and
  • Local & Regional Economic Development

Working in Partnership

To deliver positive these outcomes, OTDF works in partnership with the communities and their formal structures, including Village Planning Committees, CMCA Trust Boards, Women’s Associations, CMCA Advisory Committee and Board Associate Directors.

Complementing the CMCA partnerships are the technical, managerial and funding partnerships to support project implementation and augment funding.

Project and program funding for the OTDF is primarily from OTML, CMCA Trusts and Western Province Peoples Dividend Trust Fund (WPPDTF), various trusts and partnerships with donors and aid agencies.

OTML supports the OTDF by providing resources and staff to participate on various Boards and Trusts, providing strategic planning support, technical services, networking assistance, financial and in-kind resources.

Underpinning Principles

The four key principles underpinning all OTDF’s strategic engagement with stakeholders and guiding day-to-day operations are:

  • Effective management and implementation of regional development programs;
  • Strengthening partnership and involvement with stakeholders;
  • Prudent financial and operational systems management and accountability; and
  • Open and transparent communications.
